05/03/11   On 4/28/11, Engine 10, Truck 2, Rural Metro Medical Services, and the Rochester Police Department, participated in the annual pre-prom DWI simulation at Aquinas Institute. This event simulates a real automobile accident. The students watched the scenario play out from the accident, through emergency medical care and using the "Jaws of Life" for extricating a victim from a vehicle. Students watched while one driver went through a DWI check, including walking a straight line and breathalyser test, then ending with his arrest.

The event came off without a hitch, with a great job by all. I would like thank all that participated, especially Lieutenant Stott for your hard work in putting this together. Additionally I would like to thank Lieutenant Jackson and Lieutenant Kuppinger from the Fire Chief's Office for their involvement. It is so critical to work with all of our community partners. Through education, we can prevent incidents like this one from occurring.

Thank you again for a job well done,

Captain John P. Schreiber, Truck 2
