12/21/11  The members of Dewey and Ridgeway would like to wish everyone Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year.  Enjoy the holidays, but please enjoy them safely and responsibly.

Although it's a bit late this year, we will soon be in the grips of winter weather and lake effect snow. Please try to keep sidewalks, steps and driveways as clear of snow and ice as possible. If you have a fire hydrant in front of, or near your house, please try to keep it clear of snow as well. An area of at least 4 feet around the hydrant needs to be clear to use properly and safely. These measures will help emergency responders to better help you.

We would also like to stress safety in using holiday decorations. For info and a video on decoration safety from WHEC TV-10 News, click here.

12/19/11  In recent days, there have been reports of a "chemical" or "vinegar" like odor in the neighborhood south of Aquinas High School. Both the Monroe County Health Department, and the Department of Environmental Conservation believe the odor originates from a process at a chemical plant in the Buffalo Rd / Mckee Rd area. It has been tested and poses no health risk.
