03/31/11  Engine 19, Engine 10, Truck 2, Quint 6 and Midi 6(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 1, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 4597 Lake Av for smoke in the structure. Engine 19 was on location with nothing showing and being met out front. Engine 19 further reported smoke in the structure and they were locating the source. Command reported a working fire in apartment I and requested a restricted alarm. Engine 3 filled in at Engine 19's quarters, and the fire was under control in 18 minutes.

 

 

 

 

03/29/11  Engine 10, Truck 2, Engine 5, Quint 6 and Midi 6(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 2, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 280 Albemarle St for a possible basement fire. Engine 10 was on location with nothing showing from a 2 1/2 story dwelling. Truck 2 further reported a working basement fire. Engine 5 assumed command until Battalion 2's arrival, and Engine 3 responded as an extra company, assuming R.I.C. duties. The fire was under control in 23 minutes.

 

 

 

03/29/11  Engine 19, Engine 10, Truck 2, Quint 6 and Midi 6(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 1, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 46 Hewitt St for a report of smoke from the dryer. Engine 19 was on location with smoke from a 2 1/2 story dwelling. Battalion 1 further reported a working basement fire. The fire was under control in 15 minutes, and 1 firefighter was treated for minor burns. Engine 12 filled in at Engine 19's quarters. For audio, click here.

 

 

 

03/20/11  Engine 10 responded to Lake Av near Driving Park Av for a reported 1 car MVA with a vehicle into a pole. While en route, the assignment was upgraded for a possibility of someone trapped. This added Quint 6, Rescue 11, Car 99 and Battalion 2. Engine 10 was on location with a vehicle into a pole, and further reported they would need to force a door to extricate the patient. Extrication was completed 15 minutes from time of dispatch.  

 

 

 

 

03/17/11  Truck 2, Engine 10, Rescue 11, Truck 10(with Special Ops 1*), Battalion 1 and The Deputy Chief responded to 263 Bernice St for a porch collapsed with a person possibly trapped. Truck 2 was on location with 2 people trapped under a concrete slab. Both were extricated in approximately 25 minutes, and transported to the hospital. 03/16/11  Engine 10 responded to fill in at the Ridge Road Fire District, while R.R.F.D. worked a house fire at 5 Elmore Drive in Greece. For audio of that fire, click here.

 

 

 

03/16/11  Engine 10, Truck 2, Engine 3, Engine 5(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 2, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 271 Arborwood Lane for the report of smoke coming from the apartment door. Engine 10 and Truck 2 were on location with nothing showing and being met by people out front. Engine 10 further reported a fire in the rear door frame and Battalion 2 requested a restricted alarm. The fire was contained to the door frame and sill area, and was under control in 13 minutes.

 

 

 

 

03/15/11  Engine 10, Truck 2, Quint 6, Engine 5(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99 and Battalion 1 responded to 142 Flower City Park for a possible electrical fire in the ceiling. Engine 10 and Truck 2 were on location with nothing showing, but then reported a small fire in an attic light fixture. The fire was under control in 6 minutes.

 

 

 

03/14/11  Engine 3, Engine 5, Engine 10(R.I.C.), Truck 2, Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 2, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 165 Curlew St for a reported house fire with someone still inside. Engine 3 was on location with a person on the porch roof and smoke from the top floor of a 1 1/2 story wood frame dwelling. 1 person was assisted from the roof, and the fire was under control in 18 minutes. 03/12/11  Engine 10, Truck 2, Quint 6 and Midi 6, Engine 5(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 2, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 15 Thorn St for a report of smoke coming from a vacant house. Engine 10 was on location confirming smoke showing from a vacant structure with a working fire. The fire was under control in 19 minutes.

 

 

 

 

03/08/11  Engine 10, Truck 2 and Battalion 1 responded to 102 Ridgeway Av for a report of smoke in the attic. Truck 2 was on location with nothing showing from a large 2 1/2 story and people meeting them outside. Truck 2 requested to fill out the rest of the assignment, confirming smoke in the attic. Quint 6 and Midi 6, Rescue 11, Engine 3(R.I.C.) and Car 99 responded. Battalion 1 reported a fire in the second floor ceiling and would hold to the assignment on scene. 03/08/11  Truck 5, Engine 13, Engine 7, Engine 5(in place of Rescue 11), Truck 10(R.I.C.), Car 99, Battalion 2, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 407 Chili Av for a fire in the structure. Rescue 11 cleared from another call and also responded, taking over the R.I.C. from Truck 10. Truck 5 was on location investigating, and Battalion 2 reported smoke from the second floor at the rear of the structure. Truck 2 was called to fill in at the Broad and Allen firehouse, then requested to respond into the scene and assume R.I.C. duties. Quint 7 and Midi 7 then filled in at Broad and Allen. The fire was under control in 38 minutes, and the Red Cross is assisting residents.

   

 

 

 

03/07/11  Engine 19, Engine 10, Truck 2, Quint 6(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 1, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 3355 Lake Av for a possible kitchen fire. Engine 19 was on location with heavy smoke in the structure. Battalion 1 declared a working fire and requested Engine 3 to fill in at Engine 19's quarters. Engine 8 and Truck 10 filled in at Dewey and Ridgway. The fire was under control in 19 minutes. At the same time, Engine 7, Truck 5, Engine 13, Truck 3(R.I.C.), Engine 1(in place of Rescue 11), Battalion 2 and Battalion 3(in place of Car 99) responded to 241 Spruce Av on the city's south west side for a working kitchen fire. Engine 5 also responded as an extra company to that fire. The Protectives initially responded to Spruce Av when cleared from the Lake Av fire, but were rerouted to a third working fire at 197 Ferncliff Dr along with Battalion 3, The Deputy Chief, Car 99 and Rescue 11. The rest of the assignment for Ferncliff was Engine 16, Engine 17, Quint 7 and Midi 7, and Truck 10(R.I.C.). This left only Engine 3, Engine 8, Engine 12 and Truck 4 in service. Several companies from The Monroe County Fire Bureau were called to fill in at city firehouses and The Gates Fire Department sent a rescue to the Spruce Av fire to fill air bottles.

03/01/11  Quint 6, Engine 16, Engine 17, Truck 10(R.I.C.), Rescue 11, Car 99, Battalion 1, The Deputy Chief and Protectives responded to 1152 North Clinton Av for a reported structure fire. Quint 6 was on location with heavy smoke from a 1 story commercial attached to a 2 1/2 story wood frame. Command requested an extra company, bringing Engine 10. The fire was under control in 41 minutes and Engine 12 filled in at Engine 16's quarters. For photos and audio, click here.

 

 

 

 

03/01/11  Engine 3, Engine 10, Rescue 11, Car 99 and Battalion 2 responded to 285 Santee St for the report of a man trapped under a car that had fallen on him while working on it. Engine 3 was on location confirming a person trapped beneath the front suspension of a vehicle. Engine 3 initiated EMS, while Engine 10 and Rescue 11 used rescue air bags to lift the vehicle from the patient. He was extricated 11 minutes from time of dispatch.
