01/24/10 The Monroe County Department of Public Health utilizes the volunteers of the Rochester City CERT teams again. A mass vaccination clinic was held at the Blue Cross Arena on Jan. 18, 2010. There were changes to how CERT deploys at this event. Members were put to the test while assisting the county at this large, single location event with multiple teams deployed. Team leaders were placed in charge of different areas, handling reservations, keeping a log of how teams deployed, and being responsible for their own members. Once all teams were deployed, CERT members were divided up by The Monroe County Department of Public Health. Team leaders issued those deployments, and team leaders kept in communication with one another to ensure task completion. One CERT Team leader was chosen to serve as the Blue Cross Arena Incident Commander. CERT once again accomplished this entire task and did a commendable job. Click here to see the news release.
